Hi All,

I have been to the resort twice now and stayed at the melia and ziryab hotels inthe lower area which is fine. I am wondering where, if any , the night life is? i have heard people say its up the hill but i have walked up 2 or 3 bends from the melia hotels and it is also like a ghost town! CAn anyone shed any light on where and how far up the hill the bars and restaurants that have more than just the staff in them?? I have been at the start of feb and the end so its not as though it was really low season? any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Pete,
Hi, Fame is a good night club, please check if open, but was great last year especially as we were staying at the Sol Y, but don't go till late 12am + . Just down from that club, there are about three bars which are down a side street? if that's what you would call it. Anyway it was in a undercover bit and they were packed, which by late on would spill out into this undercover side street. Great Pizza place also across from the Sol Y. Never ventured far up the hill to the next levels so sorry can't help. looking forward to the 10th Feb :-)

there's a bar called Mango i think, i can think how far up it is at the moment but its not that far. its usually quite busy in there... mayb if u went in and there wasnt anybody there, it was the time... i duno, the goin out time in spain is much later... things dont start happening till later on. then theres a club right next to the melia hotel called fame, but im not sure if its still there... ud have to check that one out. ive never personally bin in there but ive heard its where most people go. then if its just bars ur lookin for, again, next to the melias, but the other side where shops are durin the daytime, theres loads of typical bars around. they are usually stuffed with people too.

well i hope thats helped u a bit...

Hi, indeed the main nightlife is higher up the hill....if you continue up past the Kenia Nevada hotel, the first of the bars is "Mango". A bit further up around the next bend is the "Chimenea". From the Chimenea, take the set of steps up to the next level, turn right and there are a few other bars there including "Sol", "Soho" and "Chicle".

Down in the Pradollano square, opposite the Melia Sierra Nevada hotel is the "chillout lounge/bar", Crescendo Lodge, next to the Parador chairlift. There is also "Bar Jaleo" which often has a good atmosphere as well as a pool table upstairs. The Tapas bars are worth a visit early evening in the passageway under the Mont Blanc building (next to the Melia Sierra Nevada hotel) and the "Slalom" nightclub is located directly beneath the Melia Sierra Nevada hotel.

You may have found things quite simply because the nightlife does usually get going until after midnight! Much also depends on the time of year you go...weekends tend to be busier!

Hope this helps! Giles Birch
